On 7 December, final student project presentations on the topic of Russia and Colombia's foreign trade interaction took place.
The presentations were prepared as part of a joint educational project between the Russian Foreign Trade Academy and the University Politécnico Grancolombiano, with the assistance of the trade department at the Colombian Embassy in Russia, PROCOLOMBIA. 24 students participated: 12 from the Russian Foreign Trade Academy and 12 from the University Politécnico Grancolombiano.
The projects were prepared by two mixed student groups: one studied the possibility of exporting Russian fertilizers to Colombia, and the other studied the possibility of supplying swimsuits from Colombia to Russia.
As part of the project preparation interaction, students and experts held a series of online meetings throughout the fall semester. All discussions were conducted in Spanish. The student teams were supported in project preparation by Irina Shkolyar, head of the international department at the Russian Foreign Trade Academy, Nigiar Babaeva, Spanish language teacher at the Russian Foreign Trade Academy, Diana Valdes, professor at the University Politécnico Grancolombiano, Camilo Gonzalez, representative of PROCOLOMBIA, Nikolay Shkolyar, leading researcher at the Institute of Latin America of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Alexander Vasilchikov, economic advisor to the Russian Embassy in Colombia and representatives of Colombian companies in the consumer goods industry sector.
Both student groups concluded after their research that the selected goods have prospects in the partner countries' markets.
Project participants will receive participation certificates signed by the Colombian Embassy in Russia.
