On June 23, 2023, the 11thAnnual Meeting of the Russian-Chinese Association of Economic Universities (RCAEU) was held at the Russian Foreign Trade Academy of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation

The annual meeting of the Association of Sino-Russian Economic Universities, with the Russian Foreign Trade Academy as one of its organizers in 2023, was attended by delegations from leading Chinese universities: University of International Business and Economics (Beijing); Jilin University of Finance and Economics; Zhongnan University of Economics and Law; University of Sanya, as well as by representatives of Russian universities, including the Russian Foreign Trade Academy, St. Petersburg State University, the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, the Graduate School of Management of the Plekhanov Economic University, Siberian Federal University (Krasnoyarsk), Southern Federal University (Rostov-on-Don), Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management, etc.

The heads of educational organizations from Russia and China delivered online and offline presentations on the topics of educational and scientific cooperation between universities, as well as spoke about projectsand plans for development of bilateral and multilateral relations within the Association.

Hong Junzu, Professor, Vice-President of the University of International Business and Economics (Beijing) presented the ideas on "How to take the work of the Russian-Chinese Association of Economic Universities to a new level."Shen Zuu, CPC Standing Committee Member, Vice President of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law delivered a presentation on "Joint work of China and Russia on creating a wonderful future for education". Sun Jieguang, Professor, General Secretary of the Party Committee of Jilin University of Finance and Economics, spoke on "Far East - Northeast" joint promotion of domestic and foreign development, which actively supports cultural exchange and cooperation between China and Russia.” Jin Zhuan, Rector of the Inner Mongolia University of Finance and Economics, delivered an online presentation on "Strengthening Educational Exchanges and Cooperation, Promoting the Establishment of the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor."

Irina Shkolyar, Head of the International Department of the Russian Foreign Trade Academy, told about “New forms of multilateral cooperation between Russian and Chinese universities of the Association”, and proposed to hold a student Tournament on Negotiations with Foreign Partners with participation of students of Russian and Chinese Association Member universities in November-December 2023.

During the meeting, the participants discussed development of digital economy. Bai Jie, director of the Research Center for Emerging Economies at Shandong University of Finance and Economics spoke online about "DEPA's impact on the development of digital economy in China and Russia."

Other interesting presentations by Chinese and Russian participants were: "Chinese-Russian cooperation in education based on the strategy of internationalization" (Deng Hui, the President of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics), "Sharing Opportunities for Mutually Beneficial Cooperation in Finance and Economic Education" (Chen Jie, Vice President of Shanghai University of Accounting and Finance, Lixin), "Achievements in and ideas on Sino-Russian cooperation in the field of education within the framework of the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port" (Wang Xin, Deputy Dean of Finance and Economics Faculty, Sanya University), "Environment, Distribution of Production Factors and Economic Growth" (Shi Dan, Lecturer of the Faculty of Finance and Economics, Sanya University), etc.

The key point of the event was signing of the Agreement on Scientific, Educational and Cultural Cooperation between Russian Foreign Trade Academy of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federationand the Jilin University of Finance and Economics. On behalf of the Academy, the Agreement was signed by V.V. Idrisova. Acting Rector; on behalf of the Chinese partner university the Agreement was signed by Sun Jieguang, General Secretary of the Party committee.

About the Association

The Association of Sino-Russian Economic Universities was founded in 2013. Russia is represented by 17 universities; China is represented by 20 universities. RFTA of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia joined the Association in 2021. Cooperation with Chinese partners in the field of higher education is one of the priorities of the RFTA of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia.
