On October 10, 2023, the international conference "Development of Regional Cooperation within the framework of the BRICS+ Countries Association", organized jointly with the BRICS Plus Business Communications Support Fund, was held in the RFTA.

The event was attended by representatives of regions of the Russian Federation, as well as representatives of large commercial and non-profit structures. The conference was attended by representatives of 53 embassies.
The head of Rossotrudnichestvo, Yevgeny Primakov, sent a welcoming speech to the participants.

The Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Vittoria Idrisova noted the importance of holding this meeting within the walls of the Academy, taking into account the international profile of the RFTA graduates, as well as the need for such discussions.
The Russian Foreign Trade Academy and the Organizing Committee of the BRICS Plus International Municipal Forum signed an agreement on cooperation in educational activities and practical training of students.

Within the framework of thematic round tables, representatives of Russian regions held talks with foreign partners.

According to Mikhail Cherepanov, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the V BRICS+ International Municipal Forum, the conference has become one of the key events in preparation for the upcoming Forum.
More than 250 students and teachers of the Academy took part in the organization and holding of the conference.
