The corresponding agreement was signed by the Rector of RFTA of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, Vittoria Idrisova, and the Rector of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Roberto De Andrade Medrono.
"Student exchange and the implementation of joint educational programs will contribute to the deepening of scientific and cultural ties," commented Vittoria Idrisova.
The signing took place on October 17 on the sidelines of the BRICS University Rectors Forum.
The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro is the largest public university in Brazil. It was founded in 1920 and it is the founder of the entire Brazilian higher education system, from which most of the country's public universities have developed.
The BRICS University Rectors Forum brought together about 200 heads and representatives of leading universities and research institutions in Russia, Brazil, India, China, South Africa, as well as Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia.
The participants discussed current topics and initiatives to deepen mutual understanding between academic communities, as well as to strengthen humanitarian cooperation between the BRICS countries in an expanded format.
