Open online Law seminar for international students organised by the Legal Clinic of RFTA of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia.

On 20 March 2024, within the framework of the introduction to the Russian legal system, the RFTA Legal Clinic held an open online seminar in English for international students on the topic: Judicial System and Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods in the Russian Federation.

The seminar covered topics such as:

• The judicial system: the concept of judicial power, court proceedings and justice, the way courts operate.
• The judicial system of the Russian Federation: the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court, the system of courts of general jurisdiction, the system of arbitration courts, military courts.
• Civil and commercial litigation: A brief overview.
• Alternative methods of dispute resolution: Negotiation, Mediation, Arbitration in the Russian Federation.

The event was attended by students from universities in China, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and India. Over 60 students registered as participants.
The seminar was prepared, organised and conducted with the active participation of the trainees of the RFTA Legal Clinic, 4th year students of the Faculty of International Law Sofia Barbuleva, Alina Dmitrieva and Irina Gorbarchuk under the guidance of A.A. Vologdin, Head of the Department of State and Legal Theory of the RFTA.
