On September 1, the Academy hosted the traditional Freshman Day; the event was attended by Maxim Reshetnikov, the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
At the celebratory assembly, new students were greeted by Sergei G. Sinelnikov-Murylev, the rector of the Academy and by Maxim G. Reshetnikov, the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
The Minister congratulated the students on the Day of Knowledge, the end of the admission marathon and stressed that the students had made the right choice.
“You have been definitely not mistaken with your choice. For two reasons. Firstly, you have chosen a very promising area. Foreign economy, foreign economic relations, foreign trade, investment, export – all they make one of the main components of economic growth, which will move our country forward. Despite complicated Western rhetoric, Russia has been and will be a key player on the international stage. We are actively developing economic and integration ties in the Eurasian space, therefore, everything you are going to learn here will be definitely in demand.
The second point is that you entered one of the best universities in the country. A university with great traditions, with a well-coordinated team, with good interaction with federal authorities, our university is always on the agenda. This means that everything you will be taught here is not only fundamental, but is also in demand, and is also up-to-date.
One more thing: you have to be prepared for the fact that you will have to study permanently. Life goes forward, the area that you have chosen, requires from you broad knowledge, both basic ones, i.e. knowledge of economics, languages, knowledge of legal systems of our country and of other countries, and much more, such as technological agenda, the climate agenda, work with data, you will need all that. Your teachers will give it to you here, and how much you take depends on you only."
After the solemn ceremony, the freshmen got acquainted with the deans of the faculties and received a student card, their first document within the walls of the Academy.
Dear students of the RFTA, we sincerely wish you to make the most of your years of study at the Academy. Let creative and scientific victories be with you on the path to knowledge, let every new academic year bring you closer to the main goal - to find your place in life. We wish you good luck, all success and new achievements!
