Department of Russian as a Foreign Language provides foreign undergraduates / students / postgraduates with different Russian language programs and ensures their linguistic, academic and socio-cultural adaptation to study at the Academy and live in the Russian Federation.
The main task of the department is to develop students' stable communication skills necessary for their success in educational programs, professional interaction and everyday communication in Russia.
The educational activities of the department include:
– teaching Russian to foreign students, postgraduates, undergraduates at preparatory programs;
– implementation of pre-university training programs;
– foundation courses for passing the certification test in Russian as a foreign language;
– development of teaching materials and modern educational technologies;
– organization of individual and group classes, taking into account the level of training and professional specialization of students.
The teachers of the department use modern communication methodology, digital educational resources and interactive forms of learning, which make it possible to effectively develop oral and written speaking abilities, listening and reading skills.
Special attention is paid to professionally oriented teaching of the Russian language (Russian for Specific Purposes), depending on the area of students' specialization: Russian for Econimics and Finance, Russian for State and Municipal Management, Russian for Law etc.
The Department actively participates in the international educational activities of the Academy, implements academic cooperation programs, organizes cultural and educational events that promote the acquaintance of foreign students with Russian culture, history and traditions.
As an educational activity, the department carries out the following initiatives:
«Iva Russian Language Club» helps in language acquisition: rules, tests, phonetics, grammar, memo tables, etc
«Smokva» is an international club of cultures, traditions, geography of Russia, holidays and traditions, exhibitions, trips, excursions
«Razgovor» is an online conversation club: practice of oral speech / discussion of various topics in Russian, depending on the language level of students
«Bookva» is an online book club which unites reading enthusiasts in different cities and countries around the world who like to discuss literary works in Russian.
«Clapt Adapt» is a program for successful adaptation of foreign students, which involves volunteers from among the students of the academy who communicate with foreign students and help them eliminate the language barrier.
The Department of Russian as a Foreign language creates a comfortable educational environment that promotes the successful integration of foreign students into the student community of the Academy and their professional development.
The department's staff unites qualified teachers and specialists in the field of teaching methods of Russian as a foreign language, linguistics and intercultural communication. The department conducts research and methodological work aimed at improving approaches to teaching Russian to foreign citizens in the context of modern international education.
