The Institute's staff performs applied research in the interests of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation for the purpose of expert and analytical support in the following areas::international trade and commodity markets, trade policy and regulation of foreign economic activity, and economic cooperation between Russia and foreign countries within the framework of international organizations.

The Institute for the Development of Integration Processes (IRIP VAVT) is a structural unit of VAVT established in 2019 for the purpose of expert and analytical support of integration processes in the Eurasian space and the CIS.. As part of their research and expert-analytical work, IRIP VAVT experts regularly analyze and monitor the geo-economic situation, macroeconomic trends, structural measures taken, challenges and risks for integration, and the development of integration processes in the EAEU, CIS, European Union, countries and organizations of the Asian region, South and North America.

The Data Analysis Center is focused on the development and implementation of advanced methods of data collection and analysis to improve research methods in all sectors of the economy and build the foundation of a scientifically sound economic policy. For this purpose, the center combines the verification of scientific hypotheses with the solution of applied problems in its activities.

presenting data and analysis of integration in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU); the portal is being developed jointly with the Institute of International Economics and Finance and the Institute for the Development of Integration Processes. The portal visualizes an automatically collected database of operational data on:

• key macroeconomic indicators;
• monetary policy;
  
• trade in goods and services;
  
• investments;
  
• employment and migration.
  

The portal "Analysis of news information on trade and economic cooperation between Russia and foreign countries";(access is provided to the staff and students of the VAVT). The main goal is to provide employees of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, researchers, students and teachers of the Russian Academy of Economics with a user-friendly interface for working with media reports, linked to countries, industry product groups and product positions.

The Trade Policy Measures portal is being developed jointly with the Institute of International Economics and Finance. Based on partial equilibrium calculation models, it is possible to analyze the impact of trade policy measures on the markets of basic products (wheat, sunflower oil, steel, fertilizers, etc.).

The portal of the Center for Strategic Development of Armenia (CSR) is being developed jointly with the Institute for the Development of Integration Processes: the portal provides background information to support entrepreneurs and up-to-date data on socio-economic indicators of Armenia (automatically collected from national and international statistical sources).

The Labor Market portal is being developed jointly with the Institute of International Economics and Finance: the portal provides up-to-date operational data on the labor market of the Russian Federation in the context of subjects, professions, industries; and forecasts of market dynamics.

The portal "Minimum Wage and Inflation Forecasts" is being developed jointly with the Institute of International Economics and Finance: the portal presents models that allow calculating forecasts:

• Additional budget needs from the increase in unemployment benefits;
• Average wages and poverty levels in response to the increase in the minimum wage;
• Assessment of inflation;
• Assessment of changes in consumer demand in response to an increase in the minimum wage;
• Assessment of changes in consumer demand in response to an increase in unemployment benefits;
• Assessment of changes in consumer demand in response to wage indexation for public sector employees.
