INTERNATIONAL FINANCE DEPARTMENT (IFD)

International Finance Department offers Bachelor Degree Program in Economics with concentration in ‘Finance and Credit’ and prepares highly qualified professionals in the area with professional knowledge of foreign language.

Students of the Department gain profound professional knowledge of economic theory, corporate finance management in the companies engaged in export - import operations; company cash flow management and investment activity; methods of entering domestic and international financial markets.

Students study the details of business financial environment analysis, learn to analyze business risks, to develop short –term and long-term financial policy of the company, etc.

The curriculum provides for in-depth study of two foreign languages. Students learn English, German, French or Spanish as their first foreign language, and take Portuguese or Italian or one from the above listed languages as their second foreign language.


Students are given an opportunity to study the third foreign language (optional) on a commercial basis and to take State Examination in it.

Armed with solid knowledge in Economics and Finance the Department graduates are ready for a career in such positions as finance manager or analyst, able on the basis of international standards to analyze financial performance and to make suggestions on their improvement. The department graduates are also welcome to financial, planning, strategic departments of companies, including those ones engaged in foreign economic activities; to investment companies, accounting firms, as well as to the companies of financial and banking sector (international settlements, international banking), to international financial organizations and state institutions.

International Finance Department offers Master Degree Program with concentration in ‘Finance in International Business’ for those having Bachelor Degree or Specialist Diploma.

Special training methods provide for deep knowledge in wide range of subjects demonstrating technology of finance operation in international business, including economic and legal aspects.

Consolidation of information and development of practical skills is realized both in class by participation in significant number of case studies and role plays, in analytical and research activity and in students’ practical work in leading Russian and international companies, banks, investment and insurance companies.

In the course of studies graduate students actively acquire analytical skills and develop professional knowledge participating in scientific and research work which results in Master’s Thesis.

The graduates of the Master’s Program concentrating on Finance in International Business shall be a great asset for companies as highly professional Financial Analysts, Risk Assessment Specialists, Finance Strategy Experts, etc.
