On February 17, 2015, RFTA welcomed Wolfgang Dick, the Director of the Department for Economics & Science of the German Embassy in Russia who gave a talk  to the students of the Academy on ‘Burning issues of trade and economic cooperation of Russia and Germany’. Mr. Dick shared his thoughts  on the trends in global economy and bilateral trade and economic relations with the Russian Federation.

After the lecture, during the conversation with  the students of the Academy learning German, Mr. Dick told about the opportunities for studying in Germany which are open for the participants of scholarship programs of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The students of the Academy could ask their questions. They were interested in the  opinion of the German  diplomat  on sanctions against Russia applied by the US, EU and other countries. They asked how sanctions affect  bilateral business relations, about the establishment of Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership  (TTIP), about the German companies operating in Russia, etc.   The Lecture by the Director of the Department for Economics & Science of the German Embassy in Russia was organized within the framework of the  series of seminars “Trade Partners of Russia” held by the Academy of Foreign Trade in 2015  with participation of the leading diplomats and experts from the  countries having trade relations with Russia.
